Petition to Protect Workers Organizing
I had the fortunate opportunity to attend a Human Rights conference at UNESCO in Paris, September 2008. I was mostly indifferent to the idea of workers organizing unions, until I learned more about the challenges and violent backlash people face around the world when they do try to organize at work. Labor unions are being threatened in the US due to the flagging economy. The tenets and principles behind workers organizing are solidified and protected by the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights.
